Providing towels at your Airbnb is an absolute non-negotiable, but finding the RIGHT towels can feel nearly impossible. Most towels are way too expensive and way too nice for an Airbnb, given how often you’ll need to replace them.

Instead of spending hours searching for the right combination of high-quality and low-cost Airbnb towels, use the recommendations in this post to save tons of time and money.

Bath towels

If you do a quick search, you’ll find that most bath towels cost $15, $20, or even $30 EACH. But those expensive towels are quickly going to get discolored and stained at your Airbnb. Given how often you’ll need to replace them, there’s just no need to pay for soft, plushy, and luxurious towels.

What’s worse is that most low-cost towels have huge issues. They fall apart after the first wash and shed so much lint that you’ll have to clean your washer and dryer after cleaning your towels!

That’s what makes these bath towels the hands-down perfect bath towel for your Airbnb. They’re not plush or luxurious, but they’ll stay looking great after many washes and are less than $10 per towel, so you’ll have no problem replacing them when they inevitably get ruined. Since starting my Airbnb, I’ve exclusively stocked these towels.

Airbnb Hosting Tip: Another can’t-miss detail at your Airbnb is cleanliness, which guests care a lot about. Make sure your towels instantly look and feel clean by choosing white bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths.

Hand towels

The thing about hand towels is that they’ll get even MORE wear and tear than your bath towels. I replace the hand towels at my Airbnb all the time. That’s what makes these hand towels perfect–they’ll withstand many washes and at just $2 per towel, you’ll have no problem replacing them as needed.

Airbnb Hosting Tip: Don’t skip any towel on this list! Airbnb guests expect to have all three types—bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths.

Washcloths

Unfortunately, I’ve learned the hard way that white washcloths have a way of magically disappearing at an Airbnb. Guests use them for so many things that get them super dirty and stained (like makeup) that they often just toss them in the trash afterward. I got so tired of asking myself “wait…where did all the washcloths go??” that I finally invested in these black washcloths. I was super hesitant to make the switch from white washcloths because for the longest time I could only find expensive black ones. Thankfully, after a lot of searching, I found the perfect high-quality and inexpensive black washcloths and am now spending less on washcloths since I don’t have to replace them so often!

How many towels do you need at your Airbnb?

Bath towels: I recommend providing one bath towel per guest (based on your max occupancy, not the number of guests that actually booked) and keeping three backups per guest in your locked supply closet at all times.

Hand towels: You only need to provide one hand towel per bathroom. That said, I recommend keeping as many as eight backups per bathroom. That might sound like a lot, but they come in packs of 12, which makes it easy to have a lot on hand.

Washcloths: I recommend providing one washcloth per guest (based on your max occupancy, not on the number of people that actually booked) and keeping at least three backups per guest in your locked supply closet at all times.

Takeaway

I hope this Airbnb checklist saves you tons of time setting up your Airbnb. (Congrats, by the way! Starting your first Airbnb is a HUGE accomplishment!)
